In 1939, renowned singer Marian Anderson was barred for performing before an integrated audience. She then chose to perform in the open air at the Lincoln Memorial before thousands. The concert was aired coast-to-coast over the radio. University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign vocal artist Ollie Watts Davis re-creates Anderson’s historic performance, with Casey Robards on the piano.
